We make it very simple for you to volunteer. You tell us about your skillset, your wishes, and your schedule and we will connect you to the opportunities to serve in the areas you desire.

Helping Hands' goal is that you enjoy your volunteer experience.  We want you to know every time you serve, you are meeting a need and making a difference.

We will assist you with the process of choosing how you would like to volunteer, and provide the training to be successful.

Volunteer Interest

Volunteer Opportunities

A little time can make a big difference in the lives of your neighbors

Medical Transportation

You’ll drive Neighbors to medical appointments, accompany them inside, and return them safely home after the appointment. Trips are generally 1 to 4 hours.

Shopping Assistance

It’s fun to take a Neighbor to the grocery store or other conveniently located establishments to help them with the shopping. You’ll assist with carrying bags into the home and help with unloading and storage. Equally gratifying is shopping for someone who can’t get out. Trips are generally 1 to 2 hours.

Yard Sale Team

There are many opportunities to help in this area. You can be a part of the pick-up crew or sorting and preparing the donations for our annual Super Yard Sales. You may also want to volunteer during the yard sales. Time can vary from 1- 6 hours.

Social Events and Activities Team

There are opportunities for creating decorations with the craft team, serving at special events, you might even want to be part of the entertainment. If you enjoy cooking or perhaps leading an activity this could be the perfect spot for you. Time will vary depending on the event or activity.

Office Help

You can join the office staff by supporting the daily activities or special projects. There are many different opportunities to become involved in and it’s never a dull moment. Time can vary from 1 day a week for 3-4 hours, up to several days if you like.

Senior Encouragement

If you enjoy sending cards to brighten someone’s day, this is the spot for you. Our volunteers assist with sending out birthday, anniversary, get well, Holiday and thank you cards. Time can vary from 1- 3 hours. Volunteers become friends of housebound Neighbors with invaluable personal visits and phone calls. You’ll truly enjoy them. If the Neighbor is mobile, occasionally your visit may include a lunch outing or other activities. Personal Visits and Phone Calls vary in length.
